For all the complainers who have been yapping about the death of originality in Hollywood, this year should really shut them all up! Between The Cabin in the Woods, ParaNorman, Cloud Atlas, Seven Psychopaths, and more, 2012 has been one hell of year for cinematic breaths of fresh air, and though Wreck-It Ralph may not be as great as these previously mentioned films, it’s nonetheless an animated romp full of ingenious originality and pure imaginative joy. Without Pixar to support them, one would think Walt Disney Animation Studios would craft a lackluster animated feature or a complete dud, much like they did with Meet The Robinsons, Chicken Little, and Bolt, but naysayers beware: Wreck-It Ralph is a damn good time at the movies and blows Pixar’s latest annual effort, Brave, out of the water!
